PEAR & APPLE SORBET

SERVES 6

INGREDIENTS: METHOD:
  • 4 Le Crunch delicious apples
  • 4 pears
  • a little water
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Peel, core and chop the apples and pears into medium size chunks.
  • Put them into a large saucepan. Add enough water to cover the base of the pan.
  • Cover with lid and simmer for 5 - 10 minutes until the fruit is soft. Leave to cool.
  • Blend the fruit to a purée and add the cinnamon and lemon juice.
  • Put the caster sugar into a small saucepan with 4 tablespoons of water. Bring to boil, remove from heat and mix into the fruit.
  • Pour into a freezerproof container and freeze for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve small scoops in chilled glasses after a meal.
